Hi. I’m Jess Greer.  I’ve been a musician for over 30 years.   I wanted to create a site that’s user friendly and easy to find practical information for working guitarists and newbies alike,  so you can get serious with your profession or hobby whichever it may be.

Here’s a little about me,  if you fancy to know  haha..   I play several different instruments including guitar, piano, drums, bass, mandolin, banjo and trumpet.  If time allows I hope to learn a few more along the way too.

Over the years I’ve ran into to walls ” as it were” with tone, speaker choices, pickups, guitar brands and which cable to choose or does it even matter.  I have tried a myriad of equipment and solutions and want to share that experience with you.

If I can help someone along the road to successful guitar,  amp,  effects and accessories experience then cut off the learning curve;  you can start playing with the tone and power you should have and deserve.  I’ve had the pleasure of playing with some of my idols over the years too like,  April Wine,  Starship,  Night Ranger and many more great players.

So,  I’ve had many thousands of hours to perfect or more accurately; try to perfect the anatomy of sound and gear that one needs to get a solid grasp of a certain genre or style.  I also have been fortunate enough to have been exposed to a wide range of styles over my life.

I was raised by grandparents, Firman and Mae Osborne;  that were professional bluegrass musicians in the 30’s and 40’s who played with the likes of Bill Monroe,  The Stanley Bros,  Doc Watson and The Osborne Brothers ‘my grandfathers cousins’ and a host of other famous folks of the day.

I learned that style growing up from them which helped me greatly and excelled me to learn music theory.  I branched out as I got older and loved the guitar work that Chet Atkins,  Alvin Lee,  Frank Marino,  Eddie Van Halen, the late great Dime Bag Darrell,  Nuno Bettencourt,  James Burton,  Buckethead,  Paul Gilbert,  Eric Johnson,  Jimi Hendrix,  Randy Rhodes,  Jeff Beck,  Eric Clapton,  George Harrison,  Bonnie Rait,  Alan Holdsworth,  Phil Keaggy,  Adrian Legg,  Frank Gambale and well,  you can kind of get the idea.

I could easily have a top 500 list here.  I love writing music and recording.  My wife loves music as much as I do and plays too.  We also have a black lab Dexter;  that puts up with me most days,  till I run out of snacks anyway.  Well that’s about it in a nut shell.  I love music and have my entire life.  I hope that I can share some information from the years in the business and get you on the road to playing and having a blast.  Tonally yours.
